The Past - Oct. 28, 2011

I know you wont see this. I know you dont care. But the one and only truth is, I want to be right there. I want to be your love. I want you to be mine. You are an angel from above, Your perfectness, sublime.
I wear reminders of the past and what we used to be. When I look at the history cast, I want you here with me. I think of how our past time was and what we used to do. But then it all changed because something changed you...

Awaiting the Answer

Right now it seems your world's a wreck
Nothing can go right
You think you're close but when you check
You still cant see the light
You hope it will get better soon
You hope to see the sun
But you look up and see the moon
Seems night has just begun
You wait and wait for day to break
It seems you wait in vain
You're not sure how much you can take
You're buckling from the pain
But just when you're about to quit
The answer finds its way
Right through the maze of tears and sweat
And brings a brand new day
It makes all of your burdens clear
Your life it does renew
No more troubles no more fear
The dream is finally true

Dont give up just yet my friend
Whatever you may do
Just know that when you're near the end
You'll find the answer too...

Senior Night - Nov. 5, 2010

Senior Night
By: Heath Lafferty
Think not of the past. Who was first or last.
Think not of the end. In due time my friends.
Think not of what happened or will happen soon.
Think not of next spring-time or of this past june.

But think of today. What will your actions say?
The past course is ran. Not to be again.
The future will come without you knowing.
Just live for today. What seeds are you sowing?

Close My Eyes (Remake of "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou)

Close My Eyes
By: Heath Lafferty

You won’t write me down in history
Of me, there will be no lies
For you put me in the very dirt
When I did close my eyes.

No longer will I upset you
Now you will have no more gloom
‘Cause I’m buried six feet under
In a coffin with no room.

No more moons and no suns
Never more to see the tides
In my covered tomb have I
Closed my eyes.

Now you all have seen me broken
In mortician’s disguise
But I will shed no more teardrops
And I’ll utter no more cries.

Not again will I offend you
You won’t have to fight so hard
‘Cause I lay level to coal mines
Here in Old Man Death’s backyard.

You can’t shoot me with your words
You can’t cut me with your eyes
For you killed me with your hatefulness
So now I’ve closed my eyes.

What did I do to upset you?
Why was it me you despised?
Never will I hear the answer
Everyone’s said their goodbyes.

They will never see your shame
My eyes
From causing me all the pain
My eyes
I’m in the ground, here will I lie
For a few days ago is when I did die.

They’ll see no more nights of terror and fear
My eyes
But now they will see Heaven so clear
My eyes
Enjoying the gifts that Jesus gave
They look around in Glory, for I did die saved.
My eyes
My eyes
My eyes.

First Love's Flame

There will always be a part inside of every guy
That misses the first girl he loved and didn't even know why
The flame will never flicker out though many storms may try
Even if he wants it to, the flame will never die

He will always love her no matter what the future holds
And will always wait for her even though her shoulder is cold
Maybe she will come back and his rules he can uphold
Maybe this time he will do everything that he told

But she won't likely turn around and see him on his knees
She will never see the things the same way that he sees
She may act like she wants him to come back and ask her please
But she won't believe its true. She will only tease

But maybe one day he will move on to another love
One that seems to be just for him like a God-sent dove
Hopefully he loves her like he's loved by God above
But still the first one we will never lose the memory of

Late Night Love Poem

I have always said that eyes
Can show behind someone's disguise
They show the truth that lies within
The things not seen by normal men
When looking in a person's eyes
There are no secrets and no lies
That person's true self can be seen
If what they say is what they mean
The eyes can show a person's soul
If filled with diamonds or with coal
A person can say things so bold
But eyes will tell what's yet untold
I love to look into your eyes
They always take me by surprise
I always find more beauty there
A beauty that is Oh so rare
This beauty is more everytime
Such that can't be described by rhyme
This beauty is from deep within
Yet still shines brightly through your skin
This beauty is your perfect heart
Of you, this is my favorite part
This perfectness embraces you
When you are seen, then it's seen too
You cannot hide how great you are
Your beauty shines like of a star
Embrace it and you soon will see
Everyone sees it, not just me

Random Love Poems

Eyes can shine straight to the soul, and yours shine Oh so bright.
The beauty that you radiate can lighten the darkest night.
A soul so sweet no words can near describe the way I feel.
For when I look into your eyes, you are my only will.

By night one way, By day the same. A beauty that will never be tame.
You still look great. Your perfect hun. A wander that can’t be undone.

Amazing Beauty stands before a mirror hanging on the door.
She looks upon here image there, a perfectness so great and rare.

Some say the eyes are doorways that lead strait to the soul.
For some people, their eyes would lead strait to a big black hole.
But in your eyes I see a greatness only you possess.
And in your eyes I see the fact that you are my weakness.

Somebody To Lean On - Oct. 29, 2009

I see the pain upon your face
You've lost all of your joy and grace
You feel it's an unsolvable case
That noone has been in this place

But I know many types of pain
I'll help you if you will explain
Just let it flow out like the rain
If not, you might just go insane

I want to ease your trouble and stress
And take away your worriness
To help you make it through this test
And come back out of it your best

Just talk to me, a listening ear
You know I will always be here
To lend a word of grace and cheer
Or just to wipe away a tear

I never want you to be sad
I'll do what i can to make you glad
I'll be a best friend, not a dad
Just let me know what is so bad

Scenes In The Sky - Oct. 16, 2009

I look strait up and what do I see? A little boy looking back at me. A fire truck, a limousine. A tall tree, I imagine green.

Look slightly left and what is there? A rabbit, a turtle, a baby bear. A woman stands with braided hair. But to this spot I mustn’t stare.

Back to the right I see a man with son and daughter hand in hand. They’re smiling as big as they can while like a stone they ever stand.

But now I cannot find the tree. The little boy I do not see. The fire truck and limousine have somehow vanished from the scene.

Where is the woman with braided hair? The rabbit? The turtle? Baby bear? I do not see them anywhere. I am so sad, do they not care?

Now I have even lost the man. I faintly see his daughter’s hand. The clouds have moved and cleared that land, but maybe a new one will span.

So now I look so hopingly at where the young boy used to be. To my surprise, what do I see? A new man looking down at me.

Falling... - Oct. 12, 2009

I watch her stumble everyday, and fall time after time. I help her up, but for my efforts, she won’t give a dime. For now she never looks my way, as once she did before. Now I am just another face, but her I still adore.

I feel so lonely in this world without her by my side. I need her now, for in her love is where I did abide. Without her here I am so weak, I don’t know what to do. My baby left and took my heart, now I am left so blue.

I pray she has the best of life, for she deserves it all. But I will be here waiting in case one day she does fall. I’ll catch her once again and help her up if she desires. But maybe one day she will not want to go any higher.

Maybe she will see the rest for what they truly were. She’ll see that through it all I was the one right there for her. Until that day, though, I will wait and play my mournful song. I pray she finds one decent guy that doesn’t do her wrong.

As long as she is happy I will limp my way through life. For her, I will endure all of the suffering and strife. I’d take hers too if I so could, I’d gladly take her pain. Even if she left me standing outside in the rain.

I want her to be happy, no matter what it cost. I will protect her until my entire life is lost. Just maybe one day she will notice it was always me. Maybe she’ll open her eyes, and true love she will see.

For me it was love at first sight, I’ve loved her all along. I’ll wait for her to fall for me, I hope it’s not too long…
